Good news for the Dillard family comes in the form of baby-related news as Jill Duggar's husband, Derick Dillard, recently took to social media and tweeted that fans should be expecting an announcement.
"Exciting things are happening in our family. Keep a watch for an announcement coming soon todillardfamily.com," Derick wrote.
As viewers of the now off-air TLC hit reality series "19 Kids and Counting' know, the Duggars are open to expanding their family, hence the speculations that the "exciting announcement" could be Jill expecting her second baby.
Rumors of Jill's possible second pregnancy came about after she shared a video on Instagram, which made her look like she had a growing baby bump.
However, the couple's five-month-old son, Israel David, seems to not be having a sibling anytime soon. Although there will be babies involved, Derick shared on the family's website that his wife is officially a midwife.
"I am so proud of her for her diligence, perseverance, and hard work to see this long road through to its end and reaching her goal of becoming a CPM," Derick stated on the family's website.
According to the 26-year-old father, his wife committed "sleepless nights" to her education and had experienced being "on call for multiple births at a time."
"Jill has been very disciplined and sacrificed a lot to get to this point," Derick added. "So much so that I don't have the capacity within this brief blog post to give all the details to do it justice.
The next phase for the 24-year-old mother is to make the best use of her midwifery, which Derick reveals she will be doing during their mission work in Central America, referring to it as "the fruit of the labor."
Such mission trip recently brought on a flurry of controversy when Jill and Derick returned to Arkansas for a family vacation to be present at the wedding of Jill's cousin, Amy Duggar.
Their trip back to the U.S. left fans of the reality stars questioning how their donor funds were being distributed and why they were not opening up about how such donations are being utilized to finance their mission work in Central America.
So far, aside from their plan to return for a brief visit to the U.S. in October, the Dillard couple announced their plans of spending a number weeks completing language school to be able to communicate with the people of Central America in their native language.
