Congratulations are in order for Joseph Gordon-Levitt and his wife Tasha McCauley as they welcomed their first child this weekend, the actor's rep confirmed to Us Weekly.
However, no other details were shared, such as the boy's name, although the source told the news outlet that "everyone's happy and healthy."
Gordon-Levitt and McCauley had kept things quiet during the pregnancy, similar to what they did when they secretly exchanged wedding vows at their own home on Dec. 20, 2014.
A year before tying the knot, the "Snowden' actor revealed that he prefers to not draw too much attention to his personal life.
"I get up in movies and I play other people, so when the audience is watching me in movies, I don't want them thinking about me and who I'm dating, and blah blah blah," he shared in an 2013 interview on SiriusXM's "Howard Stern Show.' "I want them to see the character, the story that I'm telling."
The 34-year-old actor also mentioned certain details about his love life during the interview.
"I have a girlfriend but I tend not to really like to talk about it in public," Gordon-Levitt said. "She is not in show business. The girl that I'm with, she really doesn't want to be a part of it. You can imagine not wanting to have that kind of scrutiny."
Although Gordon-Levitt did not disclose his partner's identity and how long they have been together during the time, he stated that they met through the help of "mutual friends."
Moreover, the Golden Globe-nominated actor talked about marriage and monogamy, particularly his commitment towards raising a family.
"I could partner up with a woman and commit to, we're going to raise a family and that's a project we're going to commit to for 20-something years," he said. "I like to not be too committed to any one future that's really far away, necessarily, unless there's a reason, which is why I'm saying if you're gonna raise a family ... I can make that commitment."
Meanwhile, McCauley is a co-founder and CEO of Fellow Robots, a robotics company based at NASA Research Park in Silicon Valley, California, as stated by People.
As for Gordon-Levitt's upcoming film "Snowden,' a teaser trailer has already been unveiled which draws attention to NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden as the "most wanted man in the world."
Centered on the controversial computer programmer, the upcoming biopic makes it way to cinemas on Christmas Day.
Drawn out from the Guardian reporter Luke Harding's book, "The Snowden Files,' the movie also stars Shailene Woodley, Nicholas Cage, Melissa Leo, Zachary Quinto and Scott Eastwood.
