The first full trailer for the highly anticipated "Star Trek Beyond' is expected to be shown at the official screenings of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens.'
While it has already been confirmed that fans will catch a glimpse of the first ever trailer for "X-Men: Apocalypse' at the showing of the new "Star Wars' film, now it has been reported that Paramount has also obtained a well-coveted spot for "Star Trek Beyond,'
J.J. Abrams, who took on directorial duties for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens,' is a producer on "Star Trek Beyond'; he also helmed the last two movies in the franchise, including "Star Trek' (2009) and "Star Trek Into Darkness' (2013).
"Fast And Furious' director Justin Lin took the director's chair from Abrams this time, filming from a script co-written by actor Simon Pegg. Alongside the Scottish star, Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, John Cho and Anton Yelchin will be returning and reprising their roles from the last two "Star Trek' movies. Both Pine and Quinto have already renegotiated their contracts for the fourth movie.
Newcomers have also signed on to the third installment, including Idris Elba, who is expected to be playing the film's main antagonist, and "Kingsman: The Secret Service' actress Sofia Boutella, whose role remains unknown.
According to the original James T. Kirk, who is being portrayed by Pine in the latest sci-fi franchise series, the crew's journey will focus on exploring "strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before."
As explained by Quinto, fans can look forward to a five-year mission in "Star Trek Beyond, where there will be certain changes among the characters.
"We're coming up on the 50th anniversary of one of the most iconic sci-fi series in entertainment history so it's inherently an ongoing story," the 38-year-old actor said.
At all times, "Star Trek' creator Gene Roddenberry sought for the story to be presented as a hopeful prediction of what humanity will be able to achieve if it only took "special delight in different ideas and different lifeforms". Such concept will be incorporated in "Star Trek: Beyond,' as pointed out by Pegg.
"It's going to be spectacular, but we're going to underpin that with some genuine 50th Anniversary ideas about what's happening in our world and the Star Trek world and try to make it a bit thoughtful too," the actor said.
"Star Trek Beyond' makes its premiere on July 22, 2016, two months before the 50th Anniversary of the "Star Trek' franchise.
