A recent survey by Piedmont Media Research revealed that majority of moviegoers are looking forward to seeing Katniss Everdeen and the rest of her squad return for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 2.' Following this Panem hype, audiences are also most excited for the adventures of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia on "Star Wars: The Force Awakens.'
In a survey of 3,000 individuals, the consumer tracking company focused on the upcoming movies this fall, and found that the final "Hunger Games' film and "Star Wars: Episode VII' are the most anticipated film releases.
Both films chalked up some of the highest ratings that Piedmont has ever recorded since it started polling viewers five years ago.
"Those are huge numbers," said Joshua Lynn, president of Piedmont Media Research. "Every demographic is showing up for this."
Other films that greatly appealed to audiences included animated film "Hotel Transylvania 2' as well as Matt Damon and Ridley Scott's sci-fi film adaptation of "The Martian.'
Compared to the last 007 installment "Skyfall,' the latest James Bond film "Spectre' resonated more with viewers.
On the other hand, movies that did not strongly reach out to moviegoers include "Pan,' "Steve Jobs,' horror comedy "Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse' and Bradley Cooper's comedy-drama "Burnt.'
Meanwhile, a new emotional trailer for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 2' was unveiled, highlighting Katniss and sister Prim's (Willow Shields) journey.
For the final film in the popular young adult film adaptation series, fans can look forward to the nation of Panem being involved in a full-blown war, and Katniss will have her final stand against President Snow (Donald Sutherland).
Other stars, such as Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Julianne Moore, Woody Harrelson, Natalie Dormer and Elizabeth Banks, are reprising their roles along with the late Philip Seymour Hoffman in his last onscreen role.
As for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens,' the highly anticipated installment is expected to bring on the hype for fans due to the appearances of Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher as the brother-sister power duo Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa.
A new teaser trailer was released last month for "Episode VII' in the official Star Wars Instagram account. Fans have already taken a look at Finn (John Boyega) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) as they prepare to fight with their lightsabers.
Finn is seemingly confronted by Kylo and begins to wield Luke's lightsaber, which is rumored to have been the one that was passed on to Leia in the earlier teaser videos.
While "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2' makes its way to theaters on Nov. 20, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens' is set for an official release on Dec. 18.
