With the highly anticipated installment coming to theaters in May next year, "X-Men: Apocalypse' has just finished its first unit filming, as confirmed by director Bryan Singer.
The helmer took to social media and posted several photos on his official Instagram account, showing the "X-Men: Apocalypse' cast and crew members having a wrap party.
One of the images showed Singer with Ben Hardy (Angel), James McAvoy (Professor X) and Josh Helman (William Stryker). The director captioned the photo with: "Great wrap night with the nbest cast and crew a director could hope for! #joshhelman #jamesmcavoy #benhardy #xmen #xmenapocalypse."
The second photo was of Singer being pecked on each cheek by the two leading ladies Alexandra Shipp (Storm) and Olivia Munn (Psylocke), while the last "X-Men: Apocalypse' wrap party photo showed the cast members having several X-Men cocktails with each drink named with an X-Men character.
Last month, it was confirmed that the upcoming flick will see the return of Maj. Stryker, played by Helman, who is known for despising mutants.
Stryker's character was first shown in the "X-Men' film franchise when Brian Cox took on an older version of this antagonist in "X2: X-Men United.' He was also portrayed by Danny Huston in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine.'
In an interview with Yahoo! , Singer opened up about what fans can expect in the upcoming installment, stating that "some images and treatments of X-Men powers you've never seen before and some action and some pretty epic scope and some pretty major stakes, like global stakes."
Aside from McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult are set to return and lead the cast of "X-Men: Apocalypse' as Magneto, Mystique, and Beast.
The upcoming installment will also see the return of Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, Evan Peters as Quicksilver and Lucas Till as Havok.
Besides Shipp, Hardy and Munn, newcomers in "X-Men: Apocalypse' include Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops and Lana Condor as Jubilee.
Known to be the last installment of a trilogy that started with "X-Men: First Class' and continued with "X-Men: Days of Future Past,' "X-Men: Apocalypse' is set to premiere on May 27, 2016.
