Netflix has unveiled a first glimpse of the new costume that Matt Murdock will be sporting in Marvel's "Daredevil' season two.
Taking to Twitter, the official account of the Marvel series posted an image of the upgraded superhero suit which the blind lawyer is bound to wear.
As the first season of "Daredevil' ended, Murdock, played by Charlie Cox, sported his official costume after the street vigilante felt the need to use a tougher one to ward off villains.
As the second season approaches, Murdock is expected to take down Jon Bernthal's character, The Punisher, as well as Elektra, played by Elodie Yung. These characters come from a clan of ninjas, known as The Hand, who are famous for giving their opponents a tough fight.
Marvel chief creative officer Joe Quesada opened up about introducing both The Punisher and Elektra in one season and what viewers can look forward to in the second installment.
"We're so happy to have Jon Bernthal because we have such a world-class cast on Daredevil; we have a world-class actor in Charlie Cox that we want to make sure we chose and were able to attain an actor who is on that same level so I think the combination of seeing Charlie and John perform those parts on the same screen," Quesada told IGN.
Taking on the role of one of the most popular characters created by Marvel, Bernthal will portray an antihero who is known for waging a one-man war on all criminals.
"Punisher is one of my favorite characters. I've talked to Jeph Loeb [Daredevil executive producer]ever since I first met him back on Buffy about doing The Punisher," season one director Steven DeKnight said about Bernthal's character.
Meanwhile, the other new character, Elektra, is known to be Daredevil's love interest, although her aggressive nature and lifestyles separates the couple in the comics, sooner or later.
"Literally, we scoured the world for the right Elektra and, man, she is the character. She looks like the character, she walks like the character, and then she has the martial arts training and stunt background that she can rely on," Quesada added.
The Marvel executive also shared his excitement of seeing the actress take on the role and looking forward to her approach in portraying Elektra.
"Daredevil' season two has been set to premiere on Netflix in 2016.
