Nonetheless, the certified professional midwife and her expectant sister shared their anticipation towards moving forward in life, especially with a new series of TV specials coming up.
"We're excited for what the future holds," Jill said.
The sisters previously made an appearance on a TLC documentary, titled "Breaking the Silence,' which sought to shed more light on sexual abuse. However, the new special series will be the married siblings' first time to return to TV in a program that follows their lives on a daily basis.
TLC and the Duggar family announced the new specials back in September.
"We are grateful that the new TLC specials set to air this fall will be sharing special moments with Jill, Derick and Israel on the foreign mission field and following Ben and Jessa as they prepare for the arrival of their first baby!" the Duggars announced on their official Facebook page.
Nancy Daniels, TLC's executive vice president and general manager, also explained how the new series would follow Jessa's experiences in preparing for the birth of her first child as well as Jill's own preparations for her mission work in El Salvador with her husband Derick and son, Israel.
"Even with all the difficulties that my family has walked through, there's still a lot of exciting milestones ahead," Jessa assured their fans. "Ben and I are really excited to welcome our first little one into the world very soon."
TLC took the Duggar family's own TV series, "19 Kids and Counting,' off air in July shortly after Josh admitted to molesting underage girls. Several months after, the former reality star also confessed about his addiction to pornography and unfaithfulness to his wife, Anna, which includes having several subscriptions to adultery website Ashley Madison.
The father-of-four issued a public apology and checked into a Christian rehab center in Rockford, Illinois.
"Jill & Jessa: Counting On' is set to make its premiere on TLC this December.
