After unveiling the cliffhanging circumstances for Glenn, "The Walking Dead' star Steven Yeun along with executive producers Gale Anne Hurd and Scott Gimple discussed the character's fate and how surprised they are that the good guy still gets the applause.
In a video message, Yeun expressed his gratitude towards his fans, particularly for their support during his absence when his fate seemed uncertain.
"I've been following everything you've been saying and it's meant so much to me to see all of your support and concern for Glenn," the 31-year-old actor said in the clip. ""The Walking Dead' has the best fans in the world and I'm happy to be back."
Yeun, along with Hurd and Gimple, made an appearance on "The Walking Dead' aftershow "Talking Dead' where they opened up about the challenges of Glenn's survival a major secret.
"It's absolutely insane. People on the show have to sign non-disclosure agreements "” in this case we literally said, "do you talk in your sleep?' And if they said yes, we offered them some duct tape," Hurd shared.
Yeun also revealed that he had to live in isolation to retain the mystery. Nonetheless, he remains thankful for the considerable response towards his character's unfortunate situation.
"It's kind of been overwhelming, I don't know how to take it all," the Korean-American actor shared. "I think it proves that this world still can take that story of the good guy winning sometimes."
As for Gimple, he explained that the reason why he put the show's viewers through an emotional circus is that he wanted to put them in the same state as the characters.
"It was important this year to do a story about uncertainty, for the audience to share that uncertainty," the executive producer pointed out. "Maggie didn't know what happened to Glenn, and I wanted the audience to feel the exact same way."
Gimple admitted that the team behind "The Walking Dead' was overwhelmed with a huge fan response towards the Glenn mystery. Nonetheless, he described the experience as a "wonderful" one because they were able to achieve a "collective experience."
Yeun also touched on the subject of being able to affect a large number of people all at one, acknowledging it as a unique experience.
When it comes to Enid's character, Hurd kept mum about her real identity and address fan speculations that she could be a Wolf. She did show her appreciation for the popularity of Yeun's character.
"He's been able to find love among the ashes. I think it's that innocence that gives us hope in this dysfunctional world we're living in," she added.
"The Walking Dead' season six midseason premiere is set to air on Feb. 14, 2016 on AMC.
